SourceHeader Updater of Visual Smarter

In case readers have not tried the SourceHeader Updater of Visual Smarter, it may be worth of. It looks like the following:

As can be seen, it has quite some header information that can be put at the top of each source file, e.g. Project Name, Source File, Description, Copyright, Author, Email, Date, and revision History.

The tool can exclude some automatic files that are generated by Visual Studio or the AssemblyInfo file. In the single dialog, all available files in the current project can be navigated one by one. More and better, all headers can be cleaned up with a single click, if really necessary; or the current can be cleared, removed, or updated with the right button.

Hidden Features of AssemblyInfo Updater of Visual Smarter

The AssemblyInfo Updater of Visual Smarter has some hidden features. If pressing the right button of the mouse, a context menu will popup. In it, there are two commands, Export and Import.

It indicates that all the AssemblyInfo can be exported to an external file, or be imported from such a file from outside.

Assembly Versioner Widget of Visual Smarter

The Assembly Versioner widget of Visual Smarter looks like the following:















As can be seen, all the assembly version information including both the Assembly Version and the File Version will all be collected by the widget. We can review the versions of each assembly one by one and update them if necessary with the navigation buttons.Or we can simply input the Assembly and File Versions once and apply them to all the projects and assemblies with the big button.

Some Gadgets Have Been Fixed Bugs Or Enhanced Too

Besides the new widgets and the enhancements to the Solution Auto-Cloner utility, some other widgets have been bug fixed or refined as well. The Remove Project References and the Add Project References in the  Solution Widget Category are among them.

Some Widgets Have Been Greatly Enhanced in The New Build #0.9.9.7 of Visual Smarter

Besides the following new widgets:

As can be seen from the UI,  one more option, 'Update affected project references', has been added in. It's pretty important since some projects may be very likely be referenced by some other projects in the same solution. Apart from the new option, many project types are well covered by the widget, including but not limited to C#, VB.NET, C++/CLI, and WIX.
